Louisville’s original bourbon bar is back

One of Louisville’s oldest bourbon bars and a founding member of the Urban Bourbon Trail is reopening. Which bar? Where is it located?

Jockey Silks Bourbon Bar is once again serving guests this fall alongside Walker’s Exchange inside The Galt House Hotel. The bar will offer nearly 180 bourbons including traditional, high rye, and wheated bourbons.

The seasonally adjusted menu will feature 50 core wines and champagnes, local beers on tap, and your standard cocktail. Their bar bites menu will feature BBQ peanuts, made-in-house bread + butter pickles, and more substantial offerings like their double-stack cheeseburger with garlic fries.

“The new Jockey Silks goes beyond our bourbon purist roots to welcome all, from the cocktail adventurist to the local beer lover,” said Scott Shoenberger, President and CEO of the Al J. Schneider Co., parent company of The Galt House. “It’s a warm, inviting space that celebrates the heritage that makes Louisville legendary.”

The bars reinvention is part of The Galt House Hotel’s $80 million renovation. Walker’s Exchange is also part of this remodel that will pay homage to Louisville’s 19th century culinary heritage.
