Kentucky Owl is Bringing a Bourbon Park to Bardstown, KY

Last year, Kentucky Owl announced they will be creating a Bourbon Park in Bardstown, KY. On November 19 of this year Stoli Group decided that world-renowned firm Shigeru Ban Architects will be designing the look of this new tourist destination.

Stoli Group is one of few vertically-integrated vodka producers in the world. The company unveiled their $150 million plan for this bourbon complex near the former quarry in Bardstown, KY in 2017 when Stoli bought the Kentucky Owl brand from Dixon Dedman, owner of Beaumont Inn.

Fuji World Heritage Center, La Seine Musicale, and Aspen Art Museum. A common theme with most of his designs is the weaving of the material, which will be the case for the Kentucky Owl Bourbon park. The rendering released by Kentucky Owl shows three wooden pyramids that have his signature basket-weave design.

The site is 420-acres and is expected to have rickhouses for aging, bottling center, state-of-the-art distillery, and offices for the American Whiskey Division of Stoli Group. Construction is set to start in 2020 with whiskey production beginning in 2022.

To go along with the bourbon themed park, they are in the works of getting a vintage dinner train that will stop at the property. The company also wants to try and get that train to travel to other distilleries that are on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.kentucky owl bottling plant

Kentucky Owl was founded in 1879 by Charles Mortimer Dedman who was a pharmacist. The land was a wedding gift from his adoptive father and he soon turned it into one of Kentucky’s original distilleries, C.M. Dedman Distillery. It produced “The Wise Man’s Bourbon” under Distilled Spirits Plan Designation “No. 16”.
