Lexington Brewery opening a new Kentucky location

A brewery based in Lexington has decided it is time to expand and open up a new location in Kentucky. Which brewery? Where in Kentucky? When will it open?

lexington: craft beer poured from tapWest Sixth Brewing has announced they are expanding into the NuLu part of Louisville and will be called “West Sixth Nulu”. The 9,000 square foot brewery, barrel aging warehouse, and taproom will become West Sixth’s largest investment in Louisville.

“We couldn’t be more excited to expand West Sixth Brewing to Louisville,” said Ben Self, West Sixth co-founder. “We’ve been distributing our beer to Louisville for over 7 years, and since day one the question we hear over and over again is ‘When can you bring the West Sixth Lexington experience to Louisville?’. I’m excited to announce that day is today.”

In the NuLu Marketplace on East Market, the entire development will contain 40,000 square feet of new retail, restaurants, offices, and apartments that will surround a 5,000 square foot courtyard.

Lexington Brews Craft Beer: group of people cheersing with beer“To us, a space in Louisville really completes the story we are trying to tell about West Sixth,” said Kelly Hieronymus, West Sixth’s Creative Director. “We’re devoted to deep growth in Kentucky and great experiences with our beers and people. The reuse of this over 120 year-old carriage house space is inspiring. And we’re going to have a ton of fun with this project.”

The brewery will also have a new experimental brewing system located on site and they will have a strong focus on Bourbon Barrel aged beers. The space is set to open in early 2020.
